Recently, Alberto Esquenazi, MD, chief medical officer at MossRehab, spoke with Philly Business Journal about the new COVID-19 plus rehab (CORE+) Unit established at the hospital’s main campus in Elkins Park, PA. According to Dr. Esquenazi, “We opened the unit on April 7 and by April 10 we were at full capacity. We've stayed at full capacity ever since."

Developed using insights gained through discussions with rehab experts from around the globe - including Italy, Spain, South Korea, Japan and China - the 12-bed unit is designed  to care for both patients who need rehab after being treated for COVID-19 and existing rehab patients who are infected. MossRehab’s CORE+ Unit is believed to be the first of its kind in the United States.
