Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehab Orthopedic Residency Program

The Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehab Orthopedic Residency is an intensive, one-year experience combining clinical mentoring and didactic learning.

Program Mission

The program’s mission is to educate and mentor physical therapist practitioners of choice who are specialists in the field of orthopedics and serve as leaders in the clinical, educational, and professional community. In line with the American Physical Therapy Association's Vision 2020 plan, it stresses the increasing need for residency/fellowship education within a doctoring profession.

Learning Experience

Residents can expect a diverse learning experience from Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehab therapists, physiatrists and orthopedic surgeons within Jefferson Health (which now includes Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehab). The program provides a comprehensive learning environment, with ample time to work alongside physical therapists certified in orthopedics. The program is designed to advance clinical knowledge, reasoning, and decision-making.

What to Expect

The 50-week residency program comes with a full-time salary as well as medical benefits and is structured as a 32-hour work week. Each week of residency learning activities includes four-to-six hours of lecture and lab instruction, in addition to four hours of mentored patient care. The program has each resident practice and receive mentoring utilizing rotations at several Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehab locations. Working alongside your mentors allows for continued exposure to techniques and patient care and creates an ongoing learning atmosphere.
