Temporary Visitor Policy

Updated 11/13/2020

We are continually reviewing all our policies and procedures regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly as the virus is surging again in Philadelphia and around the country. Unfortunately, this surge is occurring along with the beginning of flu season.

To maintain the highest levels of safety for our staff as well as our patients and their visitors, there will be no visitation to Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park and MossRehab, Effective Friday, November 13.

Exceptions

  •  Patients under 18 years of age may have one visitor
  • One visitor permitted for caregiver training for safe transitions to the next level of care as arranged by the clinical care team
  • Family Pick-up Day of Discharge

Visitors permitted based on exceptions must comply with the following:

  • Visitors must wear a face mask at all times.
  • Visitors must be at least 16 years old unless approved by a specific specialty practice.
  • Visitors will have their temperatures screened prior to entry to the unit.
  • Visitors must maintain social distancing with clinical staff as much as possible.

Please note that the Pennsylvania Department of Health recommends that visitors coming from areas with elevated rates of COVID-19 should quarantine, and thus should not visit our facilities. Quarantine is also recommended for someone who is identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19, and they also should not visit our facilities.

Visits from loved ones play an important role in the recovery process.

Families are encouraged to take an active role in their loved one’s rehabilitation process. In fact, we ask family members to attend at least one patient therapy session during the daytime so that MossRehab nurses and therapists can demonstrate how to provide appropriate assistance for your family member when he or she returns home.

MossRehab does not restrict, limit or otherwise deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.
