On Saturday, February 27,  the (virtual) 25th Annual Arturo A. Schomburg Symposium, titled Covid-19: A Color Canvas of Inequality,  will address how people of African descent are the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, as limited choices due to high-risk jobs, limited access to quality healthcare, poorer living conditions, and poorer communities place them at higher risk for infection as well as for illness severity and mortality.

Einstein Healthcare Network-- which works to address inequities that impact the health of the Black and Brown communities we serve-- is proud to recognize that two therapists from MossRehab will be involved in the symposium, sharing expertise that goes far beyond their experiences as clinicians.
Alba Seda, PT, DPT a long-time committee member of the Annual Arturo A. Schomburg Symposium over the years, helped organize this year's event and is handling language interpretation. Jazmine Tooles, DPT,  who is also Chair of Einstein's Cultural Diversity Special Interest Group will be on the panel.
The annual symposium is put on by Taller Puertorriqueño- a community-based organization dedicated to the preservation, development, and promotion of Puerto Rican culture that is grounded in the conviction that embracing one's cultural heritage is central to community empowerment. Taller Puertorriqueño  is also committed to the representation and support of other Latino cultural expressions and our common roots.
