MossRehab, the renowned 120 year-old physical and cognitive rehabilitation arm of Einstein Healthcare Network, has again been named by U.S. News & World Report as a top rehabilitation facility in the country--and is again the top ranked rehab facility in Pennsylvania-- for diagnoses including spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation and traumatic brain injury. This is the twenty-seventh time MossRehab has made the list.
According to U.S. News’ “Best Hospitals” list—which is comprised by asking doctors throughout the country where they would send loved ones for treatment of a specific medical condition if money and location weren’t an issue—MossRehab ranks as one of the best in the nation for rehabilitation.
MossRehab’s outcomes--higher patient satisfaction rates and patients having better scores in functional improvement (regaining mobility and self -care faster) than other rehabilitation providers-- is a result of MossRehab’s unique ability to pair the expertise of our clinicians with more pioneering rehabilitation robotics and technologies than any other facility in the United States.
This year, MossRehab once again demonstrated its ability to innovate and adapt by creating a rehabilitation unit specifically for patients with COVID-19. The unit, called CORE+ (COVID-19 + rehabilitation) is believed to the the first such unit created in the United States and continues to treat patients during the ongoing pandemic.
MossRehab’s patients also continue to benefit from the theory-driven research and clinical focused treatments derived at the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute which focuses on three main areas: Cognitive Neuroscience and Rehabilitation, Traumatic Brain Injury Treatments and Outcomes and Movement Science and Mobility Rehabilitation.
"This (2020) is a memorable year for MossRehab and those who we serve," said MossRehab Chief Medical Officer Alberto Esquenazi, MD. "This year, we are celebrating our 120th year of caring, the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and 27 years of being recognized as one of the Best Rehabilitation Hospitals in the nation. History, commitment and strong team work--all in our service to persons with disabilities--are reflective in these accomplishments. I am honored to be a part of MossRehab. I, and my nearly 900 colleagues, have so much to be proud of."
Every year, MossRehab treats nearly 2,772 inpatients at five locations, including its flagship, 130 bed facility in Elkins Park, PA, and at Doylestown Hospital, Jefferson Bucks County in Langhorne, PA, MossRehab Tabor Road and Jefferson Frankford in Philadelphia. In addition, MossRehab provides 190,000 outpatient visits each year at 15 locations and community programs throughout the Greater Delaware Valley including Philadelphia, Collegeville, Norristown, Plymouth Meeting, Jenkintown, King of Prussia, Lansdale, and East Norriton in Pennsylvania along with Woodbury, New Jersey and Wilmington, Delaware.
