This advanced level course is designed to improve the knowledge and expertise of the participants in the evaluation and treatment of individuals who have sustained an injury to the hip and pelvic region.  Management of these injuries will be presented across a continuum from the time of injury through return to sport.  The course faculty will discuss examination techniques and differential diagnoses of injuries, review images of the hip and pelvic region, discuss rehabilitation considerations/interventions and review functional testing to determine the readiness of an athlete to return to sport.

Learning Objectives:  At the conclusion of this conference the participants will be able to:

  1. describe examination techniques used to determine the potential pathology to the hip and pelvic region.
  2. select intervention techniques specific to each population and describe the progression of the rehabilitation process.
  3. select appropriate functional tests and interpret the findings to advance the decision-making process for return to sport.

Requirement for successful course completion:  Satisfactory completion of the continuing education units consists of full attendance with monitored sign in and sign out forms and completion of a course feedback form that includes self assessment of learning outcomes.

Accreditation statement: Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia is accredited by the Pennsylvania Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit designation statement: Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia designates this live educational activity for a maximum of  6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the educational activity.
