John Whyte, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute, discusses the difficulty of defining disorders of consciousness and offers some approaches that can improve the accuracy of diagnoses.
Biography: John Whyte, M.D., Ph.D., is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. His primary areas of interest are: Pharmacological rehabilitation of attention deficits that occur after traumatic brain injury, attention and working memory, recovery from prolonged unconsciousness. In addition to his work in MRRI, Dr. Whyte is a staff physiatrist for MossRehab. He has teaching appointments at Jefferson Medical College and Temple University School of Medicine.
