On Thursday, May 9, Philadelphia City Council unanimously passed a resolution to use the new accessible icon to designate parking spots for persons with disabilities. Einstein adopted the new icon in 2014.
Senior Communications Manager Kerry O'Connor (Public Relations), Vice President of Government Affairs Bill Ryan, and Director of Education and Quality for MossRehab, Julie Hensler-Cullen, brought the concept to Councilwoman Cherelle Parker who championed it through City Council.
Councilwoman Parker and Mayor Jim Kenney painted the first of the new icons Thursday after the resolution was passed.
