Description:
Evidence Informed practice (EIP) has long been the goal standard for care delivery in medicine and allied health professions. It involves the integration of the best research evidence with health professional expertise and client’s preference/values. There are many recognized barriers to EIP, time and skills topping the list. Keeping up with the enormous flow of new research evidence can be overwhelming to the busy clinician. Finding, efficiently, this evidence is also problematic. The focus of this course will be to teach clinicians how to acquire research evidence through efficiently searching online databases in a manner that is comprehensive and will yield the result they need to stay abreast of latest evidence. To accomplish this, clinicians will review how to formulate searchable clinical questions. It will put all of this in the context of daily clinical care and getting answers to clinical questions.

Speaker:
