How can we address disparities in the delivery of healthcare? In the latest episode of MossRehab Conversation: Therapy Edition, Jazmine Tooles, PT, DPT, discusses how MossRehab works to reduce bias and improve healing through culturally competent care.

During the discussion, Tooles pulls from her personal experience and extensive training to explain key themes such as:

· Defining ethnicity and race

· The state of diversity within healthcare and everyday diversity-related challenges that are encountered

· Overcoming personal biases to ensure that patients receive optimal care and treatment

Tooles is a physical therapist with MossRehab’s Drucker Brain Injury Center in Woodbury, New Jersey, where her focus is outpatient traumatic brain injury, stroke, and orthopedics. Tooles is well credentialed and passionately involved in diversity initiatives. She serves as chair for the American Physical Therapy Association of New Jersey's Cultural Diversity Committee, Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association's Minority Affairs Committee, and leader of MossRehab’s Cultural Diversity Special Interest Group.
