Balance and Vestibular Center

The Balance and Vestibular Center is a joint program of MossRehab and Einstein Medical Center Department of Neurosensory Sciences. The Center's specialists conduct extensive clinical evaluations and diagnostic testing to design a customized treatment plan for each patient.

The Electrodiagnostic Center

The Electrodiagnostic Center is comprised of two laboratories with a thorough complement of tests to aid physicians in the study and treatment of neurophysiologic abnormalities. Physicians rely on the combined advances in clinical neurophysiology and computer technology at the center to obtain an expansive evaluation of brain, nerve and muscle function. Both inpatient and outpatient studies are available.

MossRehab Regional Amputation Center

The team at the Regional Amputation Center includes physiatrist-physicians who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation; rehabilitation nurses; physical, occupational and recreational therapists; case managers; psychologists; prosthetists and others as needed.

MossRehab Aphasia Center

The Aphasia Center computer lab uses preprogrammed exercises with trained volunteers. MossTalk Words®, a program developed by our researchers and clinicians, provides practice in comprehending and producing words, phrases and sentences. SentenceShaper™ is another unique program that aids patients in formulating and producing more complete and informative language. The Activity Center at the Aphasia Center offers conversation and support groups, a book club, a computer lab, a weekly cards group and educational programs to promote reintegration into community activities.

The Sheerr Gait and Motion Analysis Lab

The Sheerr Gait and Motion Analysis Lab helps physicians identify the causes of ambulation problems and helps them make recommendations for specific treatment interventions. It provides computerized data for numerous diagnostic applications including data on muscular activity during ambulation; systematic and quantitative kinetic, kinematic gait, and movement data; as well as data on the cause of dysfunction. MossRehab is the only rehabilitation facility in the Philadelphia region to have this specialized laboratory.

The Motor Control Analysis Lab

The Motor Control Analysis Laboratory at MossRehab is one of the few of its kind in the nation. This sophisticated lab analyzes muscle function and dexterity and is especially useful for patients with central nervous system disorders or brain injuries. It identifies the presence and degree of voluntary control a patient can exercise over his or her muscles and movement. For patients with central and peripheral nervous system damage, motor control analysis provides a specific basis for corrective physical, medical, and surgical therapies.
