They Will Surf Again

This free, one-day event gets people with spinal cord injuries into the ocean and riding waves with the help of volunteers and special, adaptive surf boards. They Will Surf Again is the flagship program of Life Rolls On, a nonprofit that serves as a resource and advocate for young people whose lives have been affected by spinal cord injury. Life Rolls On utilizes action sports to push the boundary of possibility for those with spinal cord injuries. The public is invited to attend the event, meet volunteers and surfers, and learn about living with disabilities.

Camp Independence

Everyone summer since 1971, MossRehab has invited adults with physical disabilities to this week-long, overnight camping program to enjoy sports, swimming, art, fishing, camp fires, music and friendship. Camp Independence is the only overnight recreation program for adults with physical disabilities in Pennsylvania and is a recipient of the prestigious Recognition Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Rehabilitation Facilities.

First Swing Adapted Golf Workshop

Every year, MossRehab's Therapeutic Recreation Department and the Eastern Amputee Golf Association come together to teach individuals with physical disabilities and their families the basics of adapted golf. During the workshop, participants learn the basics of the sport and the adaptations/modifications that may be necessary for persons with disabilities to golf.
