Preparing for Your Stay at MossRehab

We look forward to helping you reach your rehabilitation goals.

Thank you for choosing MossRehab as your rehabilitation provider. We are happy to answer any questions you and your family may have regarding what to expect during your stay.

Here is a general overview to help you prepare for your stay at MossRehab.

If you or your family would like additional information, please call our Admissions Department at 215-663-6316.

Admission

MossRehab shares a building with Einstein at Elkins Park, an acute-care hospital.  To be admitted to MossRehab you’ll register at the registration desk in the Emergency Department for Einstein at Elkins Park. The Emergency Department entrance is located at the back of the main hospital building, facing the Church Road entrance.

You or your caregiver will need to complete the admissions forms. You may also have an advance directive— such as a living will or power of attorney for healthcare decisions. Please bring a copy of the document and give it to the admitting nurse.  If you do not have an advance directive and would like to create one, we can help you complete the necessary forms.

Clothing

Rehabilitation at MossRehab involves a variety of therapies that entail exercises and other types of physical movement. You’ll wear your own clothing, which should be comfortable and labeled with your name.  Sweat pants, large t-shirts and shorts with elastic waistbands are best.  You are responsible for your own laundry and coin operated machines are available for your convenience.

Additional clothing items you should bring:

  • Sneakers or other rubber-soled shoes
  • Sweater or light jacket
  • Underwear
  • Socks
  • Pajamas
  • Bathrobe
  • Slippers
  • Clothes to wear when you are not in therapy

Personal hygiene products

As a patient at MossRehab your amenities include a wash basin, mouthwash, lotion, toothbrush and comb. If you prefer to bring your own personal hygiene products we ask that you clearly label each item with your name.

Valuables

For security reasons we suggest that you leave valuables, such as jewelry and credit cards, at home. If you need to keep certain valuable items with you during your stay, please ask your admitting nurse to arrange for safe storage of these items.

You may bring up to $20 in cash to pay for incidentals. Any money that you bring will be stored in the hospital safe.

Wireless Internet

Wireless Internet access is provided to patients at MossRehab’s main campus.
