Dr. Klein’s areas of interest are:

  • The application of engineering principles to improve or supplement human performance
  • Interactions between human beings and the objects and environments they design and use
  • Problems associated with aging and disability

In addition to her work at MRRI, Dr. Klein is a Research Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at Jefferson Medical College.

She has received funding for her research from the Albert Einstein Society, the Department of the Army, MRRI, and the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research.

Dr. Klein has an extensive list of published research. Her work has appeared in Health Promotion Practice 2008, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, and Journal of the Ergonomics of Society of Korea. She has also published numerous book chapters.

Dr. Klein received her BS in Biomedical Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She earned her MS in Engineering Management Science and PhD in Industrial Engineering at Wichita State University. She completed three Engineering Doctoral Fellowships.
