For two months after the auto accident, David was in a coma. He eventually awoke, but his troubles were far from over. Severe brain injury made it likely he would never walk again. When a year of intensive rehabilitation didn't help, doctors told David he would always be disabled. Then he was referred to the Institute for Mobility Evaluation and Treatment (IMET). Our IMET team used sophisticated diagnostics to develop a treatment plan that included surgery and intensive rehabilitation. David again worked hard at his rehabilitation, but this time he had hope. Finally, more than three years after the accident, he did what he had been told was impossible. He stood up and walked again.

Today, David walks with only one cane for assistance. He is just one of the many IMET program success stories.
