The MossRehab Stroke and Neurological Diseases Center treatment program is open to individuals who have functional impairment due to stroke, neurological diseases or related reasons. Patients receive treatment from a diverse team of specialists, including physiatrists, occupational, physical, and recreational therapists, rehabilitation nurses, speech and language pathologists, physiologists, neuro-psychologists, social workers and medical management coordinators. The Stroke Center treatment program is designed to help patients regain their independence, and because stroke can affect different aspects of functioning, treatment is tailored to each patient’s specific needs. Treatment begins on an inpatient basis. Follow-up care usually proceeds to outpatient or home therapy. Certain patients receive day hospital treatment before beginning outpatient therapy. MossRehab provides intensive rehabilitation while assisting patients and their families who are making the transition home. MossRehab rehabilitation therapists work with patients to help them regain skills necessary for independent living:
