First Swing/Learn to Golf Program
On April 16, 2015, the National Amputee Golf Association will hold its annual First Swing/Learn to Golf Clinic & Golf Workshop for individuals with physical disabilities and their families.
Sponsored by MossRehab, the event will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Burholme Golf Center, 401 West Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa., 19111; 215-742-2380. Cost is $5, which includes lunch and equipment. Lou Namm, a life member of the Eastern Amputee Golf Association, provides instruction.
To register, call 215-663-6295 by Thursday, April 9, 2015. Participants may register the day of the workshop, if space is available.
The rehabilitation benefits of golf are numerous including strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, balance and posture. The payoff for participants is much more. They enjoy the outdoors safely, return to a much-loved sport, learn a new skill, meet others with similar interests, network and share ideas, and have fun.
