U.S.News & World Report “America’s Best” rehabilitation hospital
U.S. News badgeFor 21 years MossRehab has been recognized by U.S.News & World Report, as one of “America’s Best” rehabilitation facilities. In 2014, MossRehab ranked number eight in the nation among rehabilitation providers and first in Pennsylvania. Learn more.

Philadelphia magazine “Top Docs”
In 2014, four MossRehab doctors were recognized by their peers for being among the region’s “Top Doctors” as published in Philadelphia magazine.

15 CARF Accreditations
15 MossRehab programs received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), for a period of three years – more CARF-accredited programs than any other facility listed in the U.S.News & World Report rankings for “America’s Best” rehabilitation hospitals.  

Accreditation for MossRehab’s Sheerr Gait and Motion Analysis Lab
MossRehab’s Sheerr Gait and Motion Analysis Laboratory received three-year accreditation from the Commission for Motion Laboratory Accreditation.  MossRehab is only the second adult rehabilitation facility in the nation to receive this credential.

Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality
MossRehab was one of only six hospitals in the nation to receive a 2010 American Nurses Association National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality® based on patient outcomes.

Members of the MossRehab team have also received numerous awards and honors. In 2010 these include:

Appointment as Vice President of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Alberto Esquenazi, MD, was elected Vice President of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R). As a result of his election to this post, Dr. Esquenazi will assume the duties of President-Elect in 2012 and AAPM&R President in 2013.

Distinguished Academician Award
John Whyte, MD, PhD, Director of the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute, received the  2010 Distinguished Academician award from the Association of Academic Physiatrists, an organization of faculty, researchers and others dedicated to the advancement of academic physiatry. Dr. Whyte was selected by his peers to receive the award for his excellence as a teacher, researcher and administrator.

Rehabilitation Leadership Award
Ruth Lefton, Chief Operating Officer, MossRehab and Einstein at Elkins Park, received the 2010 Rehabilitation Leadership Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (PARF).

Staff Nurse Role Award
Karyn Kling, RN, was selected by the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses’ (ARN) Awards Committee as the recipient of the 2010 Staff Nurse Role Award. The award recognizes a staff nurse who has contributed to the advancement of rehabilitation nursing care. Ms. Kling is a staff nurse on MossRehab’s brain injury unit.
